Softball Recap: Hamilton Triumphs

Hamilton picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Dale County Warriors. That's two games straight that the Aggies have won by exactly five runs.

Molly Sandlin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lizzie Huff and Emory Lynch did most of the damage at the plate: Huff went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Lynch got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Darcy Tittle was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Hamilton and bumps their season record up to 16-22. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Dale County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-18 record this season.

Hamilton will challenge Winfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dale County, they have already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Buckhorn on the 25th.
