Basketball Recap: Decatur Community Piles Up the Points Against Trego

A well-balanced attack led Decatur Community over Trego in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Decatur Community Red Devils blew the Trego Golden Eagles out of the water with a 50-20 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.

Decatur Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenna Fortin, who posted 13 points along with six boards and five steals. That's the most steals Fortin has posted since back in January. Elsie Larson was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Decatur Community was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Decatur Community and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Trego, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

After both having extra time off, Decatur Community and Logan will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another on January 3, 2025. As for Trego, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rawlins County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Rawlins County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
