Baseball Recap: Piute Comes Up Short

Piute and Bryce Valley pushed the score to 15-4 the last time they played Bryce Valley, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Thunderbirds were not able to get on the board.

Blake Dalton was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Piute's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bryce Valley, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Piute will take on Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bryce Valley, they will face off against Altamont at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
