Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hendersonville). They really took it to the Avery County Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-26 win. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Vikings are ranked 386th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Hendersonville to victory were Jordan Buford and JaRon Ward. Buford gained 179 total yards and four touchdowns, while Ward threw for 242 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes.all of that, receiving production came thanks to one massive catch

Hendersonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eric Glisson and Buford. Buford got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Avery County still got an impressive performance from Oak Markland, who picked up 178 receiving yards and three scores.

Hendersonville's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Avery County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
