Basketball Game Preview: Cassville Comets vs. River Ridge Timberwolves

Cassville hasn't had much luck against River Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cassville Comets will look to defend their home court against the River Ridge Timberwolves at 7:15 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 88-49, which was the final score in Cassville's tilt against Highland on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Cardinals are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, River Ridge blew past Benton, posting an 84-39 victory. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.

River Ridge's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.2 points. As for Cassville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
