Basketball Recap: Horse Creek Academy Gets the Win

Horse Creek Academy hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost ten straight) but thanks in part to Zariyah Price that streak is no more. The Horse Creek Academy Stallions came out on top against the Wagener-Salley War Eagles by a score of 49-38 on Tuesday thanks in part to Price, who posted 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Horse Creek Academy's points.

Another player making a difference was Layla Sistare, who put up 11 points. Those 11 points gave her a new career-high.

Horse Creek Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Wagener-Salley, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horse Creek Academy will face off against North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Horse Creek Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wagener-Salley, they will challenge Calhoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wagener-Salley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
