Softball Recap: Upson-Lee Comes Up Short

Upson-Lee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-7 to the Flint River Academy Wildcats. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 16-12.

Emma Blanchard was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Carsen Barfield, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Upson-Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Flint River Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upson-Lee will face off against Peach County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Flint River Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southland Academy at 4:30 p.m. on October 6.
