Basketball Recap: St. Ursula Academy Takes a Loss

St. Ursula Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 58-26 loss at the hands of the Whitmer Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Arrows of the 44-21 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Whitmer was led to victory by Madison Finch and Ereyna Moorer. Finch went 7 for 14 on her way to 23 points in addition to five steals and three blocks, while Moorer posted 13 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Moorer a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikki Deiley, who had five points and five rebounds.

St. Ursula Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Whitmer, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Ursula Academy will host Springfield at 6:30 p.m. on December 23rd. As for Whitmer, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Whitmer Panthers challenge the Northview Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Northview will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Whitmer surely won't give up without a fight.
