Softball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oakwood Comets.

Zoe Goodreau spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Oakwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Centennial nor Oakwood have any future games scheduled.
