Carrollton added to the longest winning streak in Western Illinois Valley - South this week by beating Pleasant Hill/Western, 50-8. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Wildcats defeated Calhoun 34-0.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Greenfield/Northwestern's Isaac Masters and Riley Marsh have proven to be a lethal combination. Masters has thrown for 360 yards this season, while Marsh has 8 catches for 148 yards. Luke Palan from Carrollton leads the league in rushing with 275 yards.
A big matchup in Western Illinois Valley - South this week will be when North Greene takes on Nick Flowers' team. As it stands, the Spartans are in fifth, while the Hawks are in first.
The Wolves lost to Carrollton 50-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
