Preview: West Shore Wildcats vs. Melbourne Bulldogs

The West Shore Wildcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Melbourne Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (West Shore is ranked 490th, while Melbourne is ranked 477th).

Even though West Shore has not done well against Melbourne Central Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. West Shore managed a 35-30 win over Melbourne Central Catholic. That looming 35-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for West Shore yet this season.

Melbourne has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Calvary Chapel Academy 49-28. The victory was just what Melbourne needed coming off of a 50-28 loss in their prior game.

Addyson Turba was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for she. Quinteria Coger was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.

West Shore's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Melbourne, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

West Shore took their victory against Melbourne when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 42-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Shore since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
