Baseball Game Preview: Mare Island Tech Academy Griffins vs. Valley Christian Vikings

The Mare Island Tech Academy Griffins will face off against the Valley Christian Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Mare Island Tech Academy took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Leadership Public Schools Richmond, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mare Island Tech Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Leadership Public Schools Richmond on Friday, sneaking past 8-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Griffins as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Emerald 10-9. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Levi Delgado was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Ansh Codavalli was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Mare Island Tech Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Valley Christian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
