Basketball Recap: Clinch Takes a Loss

Clinch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 86-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washburn Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 106-81 two weeks ago.

Washburn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Harville, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds. That's the most points Harville has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dillon Mullins, who put up 23 points along with six boards and five assists.

Clinch's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Washburn, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-18.

Clinch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Washburn, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-49 defeat against Hancock County on the 21st.
