Delta lost against North Pole last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Delta Huskies lost 14-3 to the North Pole Patriots.
For North Pole's part, Simeon Langer was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Langer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Langer was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, North Pole let Caleb Korhonen and Ryan Martinez loose on the outfield. Korhonen went 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base, while Martinez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Matt Baird, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Delta's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for North Pole, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6-2 record this season.
