Baseball Recap: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Field on Tuesday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Falcons. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Royals considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Kyle Shaw looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Thad Eaton, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryan Wiehe, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Field, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-5.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and Field should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Royals (ranked 41st) will meet East (ranked 646th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Field will face off against Cleveland Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (84 vs. 739).
