Basketball Game Preview: Devine Warhorses vs. Navarro Panthers

The Devine Warhorses will take on the Navarro Panthers on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Devine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Gonzales 71-32. The Warhorses have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Navarro was able to grind out a solid win over Lago Vista on Tuesday, taking the game 49-36. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Vikings are ranked 702nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Devine's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points over those games. As for Navarro, their record is now 23-14.

Things could have been worse for Devine, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-25 loss to Navarro in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Navarro's Tegan Harborth, who posted 22 points along with seven boards and four steals.
