Football Recap: East Lyme Skates Past East Haven with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Killingly, East Lyme was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the East Haven Yellowjackets, posting a 38-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

East Lyme's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Baird led the charge by rushing for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Baird didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made two total tackles. Jacob Garro was another key passer, throwing for 124 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes.

East Lyme now has a winning record of 2-1. As for East Haven, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Lyme will welcome Fitch on Friday. As for East Haven, they will challenge Lyman Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
