Volleyball Recap: Rolla Comes Up Short

The Rolla Bulldogs came up short against the Grain Valley Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-10, 25-10.

Mya Watkins paced Rolla's offense, picking up five kills. Watkins got some help from Rylee Dodson and her seven assists.

Grain Valley was led to victory by Shellby Overturf and Makenna Lane. Overturf had five aces and four digs, while Lane had five digs and one assist. Lucy King also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Rolla's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16-4. As for Grain Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Rolla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grain Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Battle on the 25th.
