Baseball Recap: Ballinger Takes a Loss

Ballinger had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-14-1 to make it five. They lost 13-3 to the Bangs Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Ballinger saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Cornutt, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that Cornutt has hit this season.

As for Bangs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On Bangs' side, Rex Guerrero was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Guerrero has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Myles, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

While Ballinger had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
