Volleyball Recap: North Platte Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

North Platte can bid farewell to their six-match losing streak thanks to their match on Tuesday. They blew past the Orrick Bearcats 3-0. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 21, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

North Platte never let Orrick on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-23, 25-21.

North Platte found their leader in sophomore Brynlee Scoggins, who had eight aces and two assists. Those eight aces set a new season-high mark for Scoggins. Alessandra Sampson also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

North Platte was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 29 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.

North Platte picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-15. As for Orrick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.

North Platte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Penney on the 2nd. As for Orrick, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Wellington-Napoleon on the 2nd.
