Baseball Recap: Bishop LeBlond Victorious

Bishop LeBlond had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-9 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 win East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Bishop LeBlond's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jude Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Stewart a new career-high.

Bishop LeBlond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in three consecutive matches.

As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]'s side, Alex Erickson put in work no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Erickson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Bishop LeBlond is taking a road trip to square off against Falls City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nodaway-Holt at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
