Baseball Recap: Lynbrook Comes Up Short

Lynbrook fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against North Salinas on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of North Salinas by a score of 4-2. Lynbrook has struggled against North Salinas recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Everett Jou spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Akira Gok was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Jacob Sit was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Lynbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for North Salinas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Lynbrook didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Monta Vista on the 6th. As for North Salinas, they have also already played their next matchup, an 18-1 victory against Marina on the 6th.
