Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence lost against Maquoketa on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 4-3. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Independence now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Maquoketa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-15-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will challenge Clear Creek-Amana at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maquoketa, they will take on North Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
