Basketball Recap: Northeast Comes Up Short

Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 77-57 to the Lakewood Spartans. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Northeast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Walter Brown went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Vines, who posted four points.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lakewood, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Northeast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-36 loss against East Lake on the 11th. As for Lakewood, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Petersburg at 7:45 p.m. on December 20th. St. Petersburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Lakewood likes a good challenge.
