Thomas Nelson is 0-3 against Boyle County since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Generals will face off against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Thomas Nelson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Thomas Nelson turned things around against Caverna on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason Dobson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dobson was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and five stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Thomas Nelson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-9 when he doesn't).

Thomas Nelson is undefeated when McCubbins posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Ethan Casey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Campbellsville typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Boyle County proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 8-3. The game was the first time the Rebels have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 11, 2024.
Boyle County also got a great performance from Landon Parnass as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Parnass has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kyler Claunch was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Owen Wheeler was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Boyle County is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Thomas Nelson, their record is now 12-9.
Thomas Nelson might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Boyle County in their previous meeting back in March of 2017. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
