Basketball Recap: Lincoln Christian's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 36

Lincoln Christian had won 35 straight games dating back to last season and Mattea Kassebaum did her part to make it 36 on Friday. The Lincoln Christian Crusaders took down the Malcolm Clippers 82-65 for which the team can thank Kassebaum, who went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

Kena Ailes was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Despite the loss, Malcolm saw an underclassman step up: freshman Payton Dolliver shot 53% from the field on her way to 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 36.9% of Malcolm's points, marking the fourth time in a row Dolliver has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Baylor Bratrsovsky, who put up 13 points.

Lincoln Christian pushed their record up to 25-0 with the victory, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.5 points. As for Malcolm, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-11 record.

Lincoln Christian has already played their next match, a 60-45 win against North Bend Central on the 5th. Malcolm does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
