Baseball Recap: Garden Valley Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Star, Garden Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Rimrock Raiders 30-10. The Wolverines' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jayce Rogers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Tristin Leslie was a standout: he got on base in all six of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Lopez, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.

Garden Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
