Here's a look at developments that shaped this week's Top 25:

Looking the part
Memphis East (Tenn.) backed up its top ranking by blasting preseason No. 13 Webster Groves (Mo.) 80-45 on national television this past week. James Wiseman, the nation's second-rated junior recruit, posted 22 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the victory. The Mustangs will attempt to assert their dominance in the highly anticipated City of Palms Classic this week.

Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, N.J.) looked legit in its 82-55 season-opening blowout win over Pope John XXIII (N.J.) on Saturday, a Top 20 team in New Jersey. It was an absolute array of dunks and lobs. Oregon commit Louis King led the way with 19 points and five rebounds. Even scarier, 5-star Jahvon Quinerly only notched two points in the victory. The exciting No. 4 Hawks will be gunning for that top spot at the City of Palms Classic.

Seventh-ranked Simeon (Chicago, Ill.) already has won half its games against out of state opponents. Iowa State commit Talen Horton-Tucker dropped 40 points against Highland Park (Dallas) at the National Hoopfest in Texas over the weekend.
Big Riser
St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) jumps six spots to become the new team inside the Top 10. Five-star Precious Achiuwa tallied 25 points a statement 94-62 victory against previous unbeaten Our Savior Lutheran (Bronx, N.Y.) this past week. The unbeaten Gray Bees also handed previous No. 15 Huntington St. Joseph Prep (Huntington, W. Va.) its only loss of the season. Lester Quinones is averaging a team-high 25 points per game this year.

Three new teams join the party
Gill St. Bernard's (Gladstone, N.J.) could be that team to come out of nowhere and shock some folks. Throwback point guard Paul Mulcahy is one of the most underrated talents in America and averaging 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists per game for the No. 23 Knights.



Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia) proved it belonged with a huge 56-53 win over past No. 20 Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.) on Sunday. The 24th-ranked Panthers will be put to the test yet again with a showdown against 23rd-ranked Gill St. Bernard's (Gladstone, N.J.) on Friday.

Mountain Brook (Birmingham, Ala.) rejoins the rankings at No. 25. The Spartans have rebounded from their lone loss of the year last month by winning the past five games by an average margin of 23 points.

Tournaments to watch
This might be the best week of the season for tourneys — and separate the contenders from pretenders. The City of Palms Classic in Florida has eight teams ranked in our Top 30, and is a must-watch event. Second-ranked Montverde Academy (Fla.) could potentially face No. 20 Greensboro Day (N.C.), the high-flying Vikings from No. 21 Rainier Beach (Seattle, Wash.) or 28th-ranked Jefferson (Portland, Ore.) at the Iolani Classic in Hawaii. The Chick-fil-A Classic starts in South Carolina, and the big-time event is stacked with six ranked squads, including three teams inside our Top 11. The Tarkanian Classic also gets underway in Las Vegas — look for No. 26 Rancho Christian (Temecula, Calif.) to make some noise.
