Softball Recap: Maroa-Forsyth Takes a Loss

After flying high against Riverton on Tuesday, Maroa-Forsyth came back down to earth. The Trojans took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monticello Sages on Wednesday. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 9-3 to the Sages when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maroa-Forsyth has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Monticello, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maroa-Forsyth will challenge Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Monticello, they will face off against Rantoul at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
