Softball Game Preview: Central Private Redhawks vs. St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers

The Central Private Redhawks will venture away from home to take on the St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central Private will be strutting in after a victory while St. Joseph's Academy will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Central Private earned a 9-4 win over Slaughter Community Charter. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redhawks.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Joseph's Academy's offense. They lost 13-0 to St. John on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Central Private's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph's Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Central Private suffered a grim 17-2 defeat to St. Joseph's Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can Central Private avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
