Baseball Recap: Kettering Drops Highest Score of Season Against Walled Lake Northern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kettering). They skirted past the Walled Lake Northern Knights 12-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Captains considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

WYATT BAUMGRAS looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three games.

On the hitting side, RYDER REPPUHN was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was CHASE NANNINI, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

Kettering kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Kettering's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Walled Lake Northern, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Kettering will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair will be back at it again later today.
