Baseball Recap: Trimble County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cornerstone Christian Academy on Monday, Trimble County came back down to earth. The Raiders fell just short of the Holy Cross Indians by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday.

Liam Taylor was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Trimble County: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-13 otherwise.

Trimble County's record is now 8-16. As for Holy Cross, they moved to 13-19 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trimble County will venture away from home to challenge Gallatin County at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Holy Cross, they will take on Dixie Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
