Basketball Recap: Avon Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Avon extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Amelia Holbrook. The Avon Eagles claimed a resounding 62-33 win over the Lorain Titans thanks in part to Holbrook, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Lorain lost on Wednesday, don't look at Brajhia Phillips. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards.

Avon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Lorain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Avon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-32 loss against Olmsted Falls on the 1st. As for Lorain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-53 victory against Garfield Heights on the 31st.
