Softball Recap: Fife Has No Trouble Against Steilacoom

While Fife put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Steilacoom. The Trojans blew past the Sentinels 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Brooke Lindenmuth and Mallory Robson did most of the damage at the plate: Lindenmuth went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Robson went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Lindenmuth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Geving, who went 2-for-3 with four runs.

Fife hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Fife's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5. As for Steilacoom, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Fife will venture away from home to challenge Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Steilacoom, they will host Foss at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.13 runs per game on average), something the Sentinels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
