Softball Recap: Sunlake Comes Up Short

Sunlake entered their match against Wiregrass Ranch on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Sunlake fell 5-2 to Wiregrass Ranch. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seahawks of the 8-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Sunlake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Romero, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Sunlake suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Sunlake has already played their next contest, an 8-4 defeat against River Ridge on the 26th. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-4 victory against Weeki Wachee on the 26th.
