Football Game Preview: Burlington/South Burlington vs. Rutland

Rutland have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Burlington/South Burlington at 7:00 PM. Rutland will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.

Rutland might be getting used to good results now that the team has four wins in a row. They steamrollered Essex 61-8. Followers of Rutland probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.

Meanwhile, Burlington/South Burlington faced Middlebury in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Burlington/South Burlington were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday, as they fell 14-19 to Middlebury. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Burlington/South Burlington.

Rutland's victory lifted them to 6-1 while Burlington/South Burlington's loss dropped them down to 4-3. We'll see if Rutland's success rolls on or if Burlington/South Burlington are able to steal their positive momentum.
