It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hinsdale Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hinsdale South Hornets, sneaking past 13-12. The Red Devils' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Hinsdale Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Hinsdale South, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13-1.

Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Red Devils will take on rival Oak Park-River Forest at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hinsdale South is set to square off against their familiar foe Addison Trail at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
