Football Recap: Holmes Takes a Loss

Holmes played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 37-13 to the Stevens Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 40-23 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Zach Torrez threw for 77 yards on six of ten attempts. Deonta Corley was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards. On the ground, Jordan Conway Mitchell rushed for 84 yards.

Holmes' defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Stevens, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coincidentally, Holmes and Stevens will both be playing Taft the next time they take the field. The Huskies will host the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 27th.
