Baseball Recap: Perryton Takes a Loss

If Perryton was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Dumas last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rangers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canyon Eagles on Friday. The Rangers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Avaun Garcia was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

Perryton's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Canyon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Perryton will face off against West Plains at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Canyon, they will challenge Randall at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
