Volleyball Recap: Andrean's Winning Streak Snapped at 13 Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Andrean couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Boone Grove Wolves on Saturday. The Fighting 59ers' loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Andrean saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mitchell Cadwallader had 36 digs and five assists. With that strong performance, Cadwallader is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

Leading Boone Grove to victory were Ryder McCoy and Max Pollnow. McCoy had 23 digs and two aces, while Pollnow had 21 assists and eight digs. McCoy is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 17 or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Andrean's loss dropped their record down to 27-5. As for Boone Grove, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-3.

Andrean does not have any more games scheduled as of now. After both having extra time off, Boone Grove and Lake Central will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
