Recap: Carson Cougars vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans
This season hasn't been kind to the Carson Cougars, who are still winless after their 12th match. They took a serious blow against Northwest Cabarrus on Wednesday, falling 65-17. Carson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-11.
Brooklyn Mcbride was Carson's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Caylee Sheets held things down on the boards with four rebounds.
Carson's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.2 points per game. As for Northwest Cabarrus, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Carson will head out on the road to face off against East Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Rowan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carson in North Carolina (East Rowan is ranked 270th, while Carson is ranked 551st). As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will square off against Cox Mill at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cox Mill is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
