Baseball Recap: Mt. Whitney Takes a Loss

Mt. Whitney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Porterville Panthers. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Pioneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mt. Whitney saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli McLennan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Mt. Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Porterville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.

Coming up, Mt. Whitney will take on Tulare Western at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Porterville, they are taking a road trip to take on Bakersfield at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.
