Football Game Preview: Davenport West Falcons vs. Western Dubuque Bobcats

The Davenport West Falcons will square off against the Western Dubuque Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davenport West has given up an average of 47 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Davenport West managed to slip by Burlington the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Falcons were dealt a 49-14 loss at the hands of the Grayhounds on Friday. On the bright side, the 14- point performance marked the Falcons' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Meanwhile, Western Dubuque had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 14-13 W against the Lancers.

Davenport West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Western Dubuque, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Davenport West was dealt a bruising 40-13 loss at the hands of Western Dubuque when the teams last played back in October of 2017. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
