Baseball Recap: Bellevue Christian Finds Home Field Redemption Against Klahowya

Bellevue Christian's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Charles Wright on Tuesday. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Klahowya Eagles 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Bellevue Christian got a great performance from Dayton Rogers as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Rogers has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luke Evenson was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cash Erdman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Bellevue Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Klahowya, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellevue Christian will take on Seattle Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Klahowya, they will challenge Olympic at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
