Basketball Recap: Wayne Country Day Takes a Loss

Wayne Country Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 53-8 loss at the hands of the Wayne Christian Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-12 last Tuesday.

Wayne Christian was led to victory by Sydney Vinson and Lindsey Walden. Vinson posted 17 points and six steals, while Walden went 6 for 7 on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds. Those 17 points gave Vinson a new career-high.

Wayne Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Wayne Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Epiphany the next time they take the court. Wayne Christian will host Epiphany at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while Wayne Country Day will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
