Football Recap: Arizona College Prep Wins High-Profile Contest Against Desert Mountain + How To Watch

Arizona College Prep faced Desert Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights snuck past the Wolves with a 19-15 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Among those leading the charge was Evan Heinrich, who threw for 324 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per attempt. Those 324 passing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Heinrich's aerial production (87 yards to be exact) went to Dalton Speaks, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Arizona College Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Amane Breedlove and Tyson Cheatham. Arizona College Prep got some further help from Cam Mitchell: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Arizona College Prep has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Desert Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Arizona College Prep is taking a road trip to face off against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Desert Mountain, they will be playing at home against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
