Basketball Recap: Alvord Wins Going Away Against Chico

Alvord's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Chico Dragons 73-48. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 62-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dragons cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Chico lost, don't look at Jordan Weiland. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Weiland is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zane Watson, who posted six points and four steals.

Alvord's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Chico, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alvord will face off against Era at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chico, they will challenge Slidell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Slidell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.
