Baseball Recap: Hickory Find Success

Hickory came out on top against Slippery Rock on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Hornets won by a run and slipped past the Rockets 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Rockets back in April, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Hickory's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Michael Ristvey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Those two hits gave Ristvey a new career-high. Another was Ty Turosky, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Hickory moved to 6-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Slippery Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hickory is set to face off against their familiar foe Sharon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Slippery Rock will square off against rival Titusville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
