Baseball Recap: Big Rapids Takes a Loss

Big Rapids suffered their biggest defeat since April 27, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 9-3 to the Byron Center Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 on Saturday.

Big Rapids has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Byron Center, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Coming up, Big Rapids will welcome Newaygo at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Byron Center, they will head out to face off against Reeths-Puffer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
