Girard won the last time they faced Corry and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Beavers. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.
Carson Stevens and Joe Ferretti made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Stevens tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ferretti struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Stevens has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Stevens got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one double, while Ferretti went 3-for-5 with two runs. Those three hits gave Ferretti a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mason Kalicky was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan St. Julien, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
